ABOUT

My name is Akira King founder and artist of Kingmade Art Gallery & Studio. At a very early age, I knew what I wanted to do with my life and that was to be an artist. Ever since I could pick up a pencil; I wanted to draw, paint etc. A few years after I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to paint. I’ve had the pleasure to exhibit my work at various art festivals, local pop-up events, private gatherings. I even was honored to do a mural at a Washington D.C public school. I frequently donate pieces of my art to charitable events. My goal with my art career is to open a standalone gallery that will allow me to give back to my community by providing opportunities for young artist while also brining awareness to social, political injustices and health issues in our communities. I will do this all from the sheer power of art.

In my art, I like to capture the genuine essence and personality of the person I am painting. My style of art is “Black & Grey Spontaneous Realism” with a pop of color. Essentially, I want my paintings and artwork to depict positivity and motivate people especially those in the African American culture while giving roses to those living and no longer with us. I give perspective of life through my eyes, my inner thoughts by showing how I feel at that moment and time. I am a true believer that we all have a gift; I just want the opportunity to show mine to the world.  What influences my art? The short answer is my love of black history, my family and friends and you. THANK YOU!!!! for your love and continuous support of my art! This is KINGMADE4EVER.
